Nic Reagan CO #1

Today I observed Grammar Group 3B, taught by Professor Rios. The class started with an introduction of the day's lesson on Past Simple and Future Simple verb tenses- focusing on what letters to use at the end of words and on PRONUNCIATION. The professor stressed students should use English at all times and that the focus should be on correcting mistakes AS THEY HAPPEN, so that the mistakes aren't repeated.
Professor Rios handed out a 'cheat sheet' showing Simple Past endings/sounds ('t', 'd', 'ed') with a list of words using those endings. The students then read the lists out loud (individually and as a group- repetitively) and their pronunciations were corrected when they were mispronounced. *Widowed* was a word the students didn't know and the meaning was discussed in context.
Activity 2 was a prompt for students to come up with sentences in groups using the prompt 'In 20 years...' and then completing several sentences using the future tense with various topics (space travel, population, etc...). Some of these were then discussed in class and projected on the whiteboard.
