Tatiana TS #1

Today I tutored a level 2 student named Sam. He expressed to me that speaking and listening are the most difficult subjects for him. I went over with him the seven steps to building a presentation. It really helped when I asked him to tell me his favorite topic, running, and use running as his example presentation. This made it much easier for me to explain the steps and for him to contribute ideas. We also went over what he covered in listening class earlier today. There were nine key terms and we matched them with the correct definitions. I found it interesting that anytime I would compare two words he would immediately ask if they were synonyms or antonyms.  I learned that when I wrote down words or phrases that I was using to help explain something it really helped him understand the concepts much faster. He was a great student who was eager to learn and very appreciative to receive assistance.
